Kirsten Burandt
A Lifelong Dream
Kirsten Burandt, dancer, singer, actor, choreographer, and teacher has fulfilled her lifelong dream with the launch of Class Act Performing Arts (CAPA) where she shares her talent and passion for performance with students in the CAPA family. A dancer since she was just two years old, Kirsten brings an extensive repertoire of competitive dance in tap, jazz, ballet, and hip hop, and Mexican folkloric.
A Triple Threat Performer
Frequently invited to choreograph dance at private studios across the country, Kirsten has also choreographed musical theatre productions for schools in San Antonio and Houston, including Anything Goes! for Clark High School in 2019.
She has sung in jazz ensembles, country music groups, and show bands, appearing throughout the US. Her vocal talent was recognized with the People’s Choice Award at Gimme the Mic, a TV show competition.
Rounding out her triple threat talent, Kirsten has performed in musical theatre productions since her teens, when she was a member of the SALTines, San Antonio Little Theatre’s (SALT) elite youth group, appearing in Oklahoma! and The Wizard of Oz.
As a vocalist and choreographer with Max Class and the Class Act and the Fletcher Goodman Band, she performed at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas and on venues with ZZ Top and Chubby Checker, as well as at hundreds of conventions and weddings.
An Experienced, Credentialed Educator
In the thirteen years before opening CAPA, she served as dance and drill team director at Northside ISD and SAISD and as the Artistic Director of the Alief Jazz Ballet Company in Houston. She is certified as a Master Instructor /Choreographer and Tap Examiner by the Texas Association Teachers of Dance; and in Dance, Physical Education, and Professional Development by EXCET.
Kirsten holds a bachelor’s degree in dance education from Texas State University. She consistently trains at workshops and conventions across the US to remain current in the latest music, styles, techniques, and choreography.

Sharing this expertise and that of her faculty with the CAPA family of students, Kirsten is passionate about promoting excellence in performance education. With a comprehensive curriculum focused on creativity, self-confidence, and discipline, CAPA will enrich its students with the skills needed for success.
